From the themes catalogue

This method can be used for any theme, no matter if it is active or inactive, or if it is ours or from other vendors.

1. On your WordPress Dashboard, go to Appearance → Themes.
2. Find the desired theme (you can browse through the pages, or search for it), hover over it, and click the Theme Details button.
3. At the right, next to theme name, you will find the version of the theme.

From the style.css file

This method can also be used for any theme.

1. Connect to your server using FTP (or the method of your choice) and find the folder of your theme (for example, if you want to obtain the version of Flatbase, it should be the wp-content/themes/flatbase folder).
2. Download and open the style.css file, which is located in the root folder of the theme.
3. At the top, in the file header, you will find a line stating the version of the theme.

Getting the License Key

All you have to do is sign up to our website and enter your Envato/ThemeForest code on this page. Your purchase will be automatically validated, and you will be given your license key right the way.

Note that, since ThemeForest will give you a purchase code for each theme you buy, you will need to validate all of them this way to obtain a different license key for each one.

Obtain the correct theme files

There are two ways to obtain the files of a theme you purchased in ThemeForest. Once you bought it, you need to locate the Download button that will appear inside your Downloads section.

To download your files, you need to click any of the first two options:

• All files & documentation
• Installable WordPress file only

All files & documentation

If you select the first option, you will get a zip file that doesn’t only contain the files of the theme, but also some other files with documentation and other information about your purchase. You’ll find the actual files of the theme inside alongside those ones, inside another zip file. You can upload that file to your WordPress installation through your WordPress Dashboard, or unzip its contents in your wp-content/themes folder.

Installable WordPress file only

The second option will give you a zip file that only contains the files of the theme. You can either upload the zip file directly through your WordPress Dashboard, or unzip its contents in your wp-content/themes folder.

Installing the theme

Once you have the files of your theme, either inside a zip file or a folder containing the files, you need to upload it to your WordPress installation. Check this article to know how to do it.

1. On your WordPress Dashboard, go to Posts → All Posts (or Pages, your custom post type). Find the desired post, and click on its title or its Edit option.
2. Find the Featured Image panel, and click on Set featured image.
3. Choose an image that you’ve already uploaded, or upload a new image.
4. Click Use as featured image to set it as the featured image of the post.
