Custom Excerpt in Knowledgebase

Hello. I am wanting to enter a custom excerpt for the articles in the knowledgebase function of the site. However, I don’t see this available in the (article) post editor (does not show up under Screen Options to add, even in the classic editor). I’m assuming this is because it is an article vs. a regular post? Is there a way to add the excerpt option?

The article post type is prepared to use the excerpt, introduced in version 2.0.9 of Flatbase. Please check that you’re on the latest version.
