Request ID #1814 In Progress
  • Hi,

I want to use the ‘Default Template’ for various pages/sections of the website and have each a separate ‘Custom Menu’ widget in the Page sidebar. How can I separate them? There seems to be only one option for the sidebar.

Hi – also trying to figure out the Food Menu system. What I’m wanting is individual Menu pages like Lunch, Dinner, Brunch, etc. Then each of those will have the menu items within it. It would be breat if those menu items could be broken up up sections with the use of the left hand green nag links in the Menu List template.

I tried setting up those (Lunch, Dinner, etc) as Menu Categories in the Food Menu section. I don’t then see them in Appearance / Menus / Categories – there’s nothing there, only ‘Uncategorized’ Do I first create those as Pages or Categories or?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for writing. Yes, the default template calls the “Page Sidebar”.
In order to get that working you’ll need to extend your WordPress functionality with some plugin. Something like: http://wordpress.org/plugins/dynamics-sidebars/

From what you tell me, I guess that you’re doing ok with the menus. Please, when in the “Appearance > Menus” page, check there’s a button that says “Screen Options” icon on the top right of the page. Click there and then you’ll able to pick the “Menu Categories” in order to add them over the menu.

    Best,
    Juan.

Hi – the dynamic sidebar plugin worked fine – thanks!

I also activated the Menu Categories now and the menus appear in the “menus” dropdown navigation menu. It looks to default to the GRID view though, anyway to change that since I don’t see the options in the Menu Categories?

I’ll email you the site to have a quick look at.

    Thanks

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for writing. I’ve seen your email and replied there.

    Thanks again,
    Juan.
