Search Functionality

Hi,
How do I extend the search functionality at the top of the homepage so that it will also search through the blog and forums as well. I see the forums search box in that section but in terms of usability people aren’t necessarily going to use it. Also why doesn’t the search functionality look though blog posts? We have hard content for the knowledge base but we also have soft content as well which we want to house on the blog, but whats the point it if can’t search the blog as well.

Thank you for writing. The idea is that the live search functionality is limited to articles only, because the main focus of the theme is to provide a knowledge base.
If you use any other search input, like the search widget within the blog – for example – the results page will list posts.
