I created a page with the two column layout for the services. In the demo the images are cropped to an image with the width two times the height. In my site it shows the full images (480 x 480).
What do I change so this works as it should?

Thanks for writing. The WordPress cropping functionality only crops the photos when these are larger in size than what the site needs. For example, for that template the size is 480×180. If you use a 480×480 image, it won’t crop that and it will use it full size. If you use something larger than 480 of width it will crop it.
