I have the following problem:
when I post an article and put it into the category I created, this article is also displayed in the subcategory and the category. I want the item not to appear in the category, but only in the subcategory.
Juanfra Aldasoro July 26, 2018 at 7:00 pmHi,
Thank you for writing. I hope you are doing well.
Do you mean that they appear in the category in the knowledgebase on the home page? Are you linking the article to both category and sub-category or just sub-category?
Thank you,
Juan.julianylli July 28, 2018 at 12:31 pmHello.
The article appears in parent category and in the subcategory as well. For example: the article “Koordinatat e një pike në rrjetin koordinativ” appears in parent category here: http://detyra.al/?article-category=matematika-klasa-7 and in the subcategory here: http://detyra.al/?article-category=matematika-klasa-7-shnderrime-gjeometrike
I don’t want to see that on parent ctegory
Juanfra Aldasoro August 1, 2018 at 1:14 amHello,
Thank you for the follow-up.
Can you please provide me the username and password access details in a private reply so I can check how that’s configured in the backend?
Thank you,
Juan.Juanfra Aldasoro August 6, 2018 at 1:32 pmHi,
Thank you for the follow-up and for sharing your details.
Unfortunately, I cannot log in with those access details. I’m getting a username/password error.
Would you please re-check them?
Best,

Thank you for the follow-up. I was able to check out your site admin and configuration.
Well, that’s how WordPress handles the categories page. It displays the articles linked to that category and its child categories. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do to change that. This one can be solved by creating a custom solution.
You can check that it happens the same if you create the same type of structure using posts instead of articles.

Thank you for the follow-up.
No problem. I hope you can find a solution to your problem. For posts categories, I’ve found that somebody created a plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/no-sub-category-posts-in-loop/

Juan.Juanfra Aldasoro September 6, 2018 at 3:42 pmHello,
Thank you for the follow-up.
I understand it might not work as you require or need, but unfortunately, that’s the way WordPress works in terms of categories and posts (we use a custom taxonomy and a custom post type).
Again, unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do to change that.
Best,
Juan
