Hello, I’m trying activate the slider on my home page. I’ve set the static front page to a page and on that page, I’ve set the template to Home. I’ve created a slide and I’ve got the options set correctly in theme options as far as I can see. Please help.
Juanfra Aldasoro October 13, 2013 at 7:37 pmHello Tracy,
Thanks for writing. Have you set the featured image over the slide that you created?
Best,
Juan.tracyholland October 13, 2013 at 8:10 pmYes, I did that after I left my question and it worked, but my image is only 960 x 300. It’s getting distorted. Is there a way to change the size of the feature image. You can see it on the home page now.
Juanfra Aldasoro October 13, 2013 at 8:13 pmGreat.
Well, actually you’re using what it looks like a previous version of the theme, in the newer version you can pick whether if you want to use timthumb for images or the native WordPress functionalities. It’s important for you to know that we’ll be removing timthumb in the upcoming version, so a good plan would be updating to the latest version and using the native WP image functionalities.

Juan.tracyholland October 13, 2013 at 8:25 pmOk. Where can I find that update? WordPress says all of my themes are up to date. Thank you for your help!
tracyholland October 13, 2013 at 8:28 pmAnd one other thing. In Safari, the background and type colors are showing differently. The background is showing up white when I’ve set the background color in the CSS to maroon.
tracyholland October 13, 2013 at 10:15 pmNever mind the Safari issue. Figured that one out. I would like to Center the pre-footer widgets though. Can you tell me where to control that? I can’t seem to find it.
Juanfra Aldasoro October 14, 2013 at 8:14 amHi Tracy,
In order to get the latest update you need to go to your NiceThemes dashboard and download the theme again. Once you get it then you need to replace the files on your server with the new ones.
Regarding the center position for the pre-footer widgets you mean center aligning the text?
Best,
Juan.tracyholland October 14, 2013 at 1:31 pmThanks Juan, I will download them today. Yes, I would like the title above the image and the text below the image center. I can center the text below the image in the html but couldn’t figure out where to control the title.
Juanfra Aldasoro October 14, 2013 at 9:39 pmHi Tracy,
Excellent. Please be sure to make a backup before replacing the files.
With regards to the widgets, you’ll need to work in the CSS in order to center align the title over there.

Juan.tracyholland October 21, 2013 at 3:11 amHi Juan, I’m just getting around to using the updated theme. Once I installed it, the pre-footers on the home page disappeared. I can’t figure out why.
Juanfra Aldasoro October 21, 2013 at 9:19 amHi Tracy,
I’ve been through your site and it seems that you haven’t updated the JavaScript files with the new ones (/includes/js/ folder). The new version of the theme includes a special effect while loading, for the infoboxes and the pre-footer widgets. It was done by editing the JavaScript + CSS + templates. So, if any of these is not updated it won’t work as it should. Please make sure to replace the old javascript folder with the new one.
Best,
Juan.tracyholland October 21, 2013 at 12:05 pmThank you for the quick response as usual! I actually replaced all the theme files including that js folder that I downloaded from my account. Is there a way for you to email them to me? Or are those a separate download somewhere?
Juanfra Aldasoro October 21, 2013 at 1:31 pmHello Tracy,
No problem. I’ve just checked and the files are in place. However, there’s a jQuery error that is preventing the effect to be triggered.
While we check the error, you can solve this problem by adding the following CSS:
.infobox ul > li, #pre-footer-widgets .widget-section, .gallery-container ul li{ opacity: 1;}
Best,
Juan
