I can’t figure out why I can’t install plugins. I am the admin, (double checked that I have admin privileges) but there is no “Add New” button for browsing WP plugins and installing. I get an error when trying to do so via FTP. Any troubleshooting ideas?

Your problem is not related to the theme itself, it may be related to the site WordPress install configuration or the server configuration.

Have you contacted the hosting support to ask them why is that you can’t add them via FTP?

Have you checked the wp-content/plugins folder permissions?
