Contact Form Suggestion

Hi,
I’ve been running BBQ for a couple years and and I’m quite happy with it.
My only complaint is that the contact form doesn’t seem to provide sufficient feedback when the user clicks the submit button.
The “success” message is not very prominent and MOST of my contact form requests come up 10 or 20 times in my email inbox because the user keeps clicking submit because they don’t notice the success message (well, at least that’s my guess…)
Any chance we could fix that on an upcoming release? Possibly a little modal popup or something that says “thank you. your message has been sent” …
Thanks!
Juanfra Aldasoro January 30, 2016 at 6:51 pmHello,
Thank you for writing and thanks for your kind words.
Thanks for the suggestion as well. In the latest versions of the theme we’ve added a filter to give the possibility to hide the theme’s default contact form and by doing so, giving the possibility to use other forms generated by plugins like Contact Form 7 or Gravity Forms.
We’ve taken this approach because we began to think that the contact form should be plugin territory.
I’d recommend you to take a look at this function: https://gist.github.com/juanfraa/e76c9ff9c5a3b469a1c6 (which can be added to your theme functions.php file in order to hide the contact form from the contact template)
And then, take a look at these plugins:

Juan.
