Hi folks,
I’m getting an error message when attempting to activate Nice Gallery through WordPress.
I’m running WordPress 4.6, with no other plugins except Wordfence, and I’ve tried disabling it.
I’m also using ColorMag theme: http://demo.themegrill.com/colormag/This is the error code I am getting:
Fatal error: Undefined class constant ‘SKIP_DOTS’ in /home/content/25/7306625/html/wp-content/plugins/nice-portfolio/lib/nice-adr/autoloader/class-autoloader.php on line 168
Any ideas? Thanks guys!
Andrés Villarreal August 25, 2016 at 2:34 pmHi ZephyrStar,
Thank you for writing, I hope you’re doing well.
Could you please check which PHP version you’re using? That’s a typical error in the PHP 5.2.x branch, which we’re not supporting currently. That’s because PHP 5.2.x is a really old branch that is not supported by the PHP Group since January 2011, and has a lot of performance and security issues, but some hosting providers are still using it. Some of these providers, however, offer the option to switch to a higher version. We suggest that you check with your provider if that’s an option for you, and then upgrade your PHP version to the highest available.
Keep in mind that WordPress recommends PHP 5.6 as the minimum PHP version, and although the core itself will work from PHP 5.2.4, the 5.2.x branch may expose your site to security vulnerabilities.
Please let us know how it goes, and thanks again.
Best,
Andrés.

Thanks so much for the fast reply!
I just looked into what my provider has, and the latest version is 5.4. I’m going to go ahead and switch over to that and see if that will work.
Once again, thanks so much for your help, I will let you know the outcome.-Chris
