Hi,
Thanks for writing.
Yes – what you can do is create Food Menu categories. That way, you’ll assign food items to the categories and you will be able to use the food menu category template for each one.
Example: one category for Food & another one for Drinks.

Juan.convert February 21, 2013 at 2:34 pmThanks for quick reply.
I have considered the method you describe, but will it be possible to show menu one on one page template and menu two on a different template/page.
If not, will you be interested in modifying the code to accomplish this, we will of course pay for your work.
Juanfra Aldasoro February 21, 2013 at 2:37 pmNo problem 🙂
Yes, you can. As they are food categories you don’t need to create any page for that, they’re created automatically. And the theme has a template to handle that.
If you visit your page http://yourwpsite.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=menu-category&post_type=menu – you’ll see all the menu categories that you’d created. You’ll able to create more, edit or delete. When you hover any category you’ll see that there’s a link that says “View”. If you click that link, you’ll be sent to the Food menu category template.
On BBQ’s newest version (It was released last week – 1.0.6 ) you can select to display your food menu category template with a grid or list style.
Then, when creating your WordPress navigation menu, you can add any “Menu Category” (in our hypothetical case: Food, Drinks).

Juan.convert February 22, 2013 at 10:22 amI tried your solution, but it not quit what we are looking for. We need 3-4 complete different menus liek: http://dev.convertic.dk/thekitchen/take-away/menu/
Each menu must have categories in left sidebar as the above. How do we accomplish this. We need different menus for catering, take away etc. I tried to create subcategories but we also need the same structure with sidebar and scroll effect as in the main category.
Juanfra Aldasoro February 22, 2013 at 1:32 pmHello There,
Which version of BBQ are you running? Since version 1.0.6 you can select through an option, if you want the grid or the list style for the menu category template. However, this template is not prepared to have the floating menu. We’ll be working on this and come back to you as soon as we have a solution.
Thanks,
Juan.Juanfra Aldasoro February 22, 2013 at 7:11 pmHi,
We’ve updated BBQ to version 1.0.7 in order to have this feature working – you can now download the files from your dashboard.
Now, on the food category template, when having the list view defined, if there are subcategories it’ll show them on the floated sidebar the same way the menu list template does.
The files we’ve updated are:
/bbq/style.css
/bbq/comments.php
/bbq/taxonomy-menu-category.php
/bbq/includes/js/custom.js
/bbq/changelog.txtBy replacing your theme files with these new ones you’ll be having the new feature.
Best,
Juan.
