Client wants to change the order of how their Food Menu categories show up using the Menu List. It’s my understanding that they show up in alpha order (via the title or slug?)…it’s been a few months since we’ve re-launched the site, they’ve made changes and we have some confusion.

Between familiarity with the theme and scanning the forum it appears that we can install a plugin to customize the order, but my questions remains, “what’s the sort order in the first first place?”

Thanks for writing. I hope you are doing well.

At the moment, WordPress doesn’t give such option. The categories are ordered in the way they are created. However, there are several plugins that let you set an order on categories and taxonomies. For example: http://wordpress.org/plugins/taxonomy-terms-order/

We’ve tested that plugin, it is free, and it works perfectly well for what you need.
