How do I create Child-Articles of parent Articles within Categories on homepage?

My site is on a development server and cannot be accessed from outside our local instance.
Question:
I want to have a hierarchical category and article structure similar to the linked images here: https://cloudup.com/cZ0lG8xeHIj.
I cannot see how it may be accomplished in the Flatbase customisation settings to look like the graphic in the URL above.
Is it possible to accomplish this using Custom Taxonomy Order plugin or is there another drag n drop plugin available or is there a need to use a customised child theme that has been edited by a PHP dev?Juanfra Aldasoro October 3, 2016 at 8:57 pmHi,
Thank you for writing. I hope you are doing well.
Unfortunately articles are not hierarchical. Have you tried creating sub-categories for the main categories? That would be the only way to achieve something similar to what you’ve shown in the sketches.
Best,
Juan.joh_luzern October 4, 2016 at 1:11 pmHi Juan,
Many thanks for the reply.
I have tried to create a sub-category within a category but the displayed output is the same as the Category/Article relationship as before and is not indented in the knowledgebase template as desired in the graphic from my original post.
The only difference seen is in the Admin page where the hierarchy is category/sub-category is displayed.
Have you any other ideas as to how to achieve what I am looking for? Thanks again in advance,
Juanfra Aldasoro October 4, 2016 at 3:49 pmHi,
Thank you for the follow up.
Well the subcategory must be displaying the name of the subcategory and I imagine that is something similar to what you are looking for.
Regarding options, you don’t have an option to create nested articles as articles are not hierarchical, so I imagine that any solution will require customization.
Best,
Juan.
