Image sizes skewed/stretched across site since theme update

Hi Juan!
We recently updated our BBQ theme and afterwards all images on our site were skewed/stretched and no longer responsive, slider is stretched in mobile…Images for our menu items are incredibly blurry, even more so when I tried to re-upload an image according to your guide found here: http://nicethemes.com/forums/topic/homepage-slider-doesnt-have-the-right-height/#post-2980
Also, in the menu items, when I try to replace a featured image the previously featured image does not disappear, but instead turns into a slider with previous and new displaying. Here’s an example for both the blurry image, that used to display perfectly, and featured image displaying multiple images: http://www.sixstrawberries.com/menu/strawberry/
I was able to get my info-boxes on our front page to work according to your guide, but the menu items, and slider on mobile remain an issue. Any help for getting the site back to how it was before the update would be greatly appreciated.
thanks Juan!

Juanfra Aldasoro February 20, 2014 at 8:41 pmHello there,
Thanks for writing.
When we had to remove timthumb we started using the WordPress image funcionalities to handle the image resize. We wrote a post before we made the update so that anybody who had their site using any of our themes and interested in updating, was aware of this. http://nicethemes.com/2013/10/upcoming-changes-goodbye-timthumb/
We gave some recommendations over there on how to solve the main problems that may come with the update.
So, now all themes are using the native functionalities provided by WordPress.
The idea is that the “responsiveness” of the images is not given by the image size itself, but by the styles. So on that regard you shouldn’t be experiencing any problem.
What you can be experiencing, however, is that now, the WordPress native functionalities are not capable of stretching images, as it was possible with TimThumb.
The images that you mention are blurry, is because they’re 65x65px in dimension, and they’re stretched with CSS to 610px. I’d try to re-upload those.
Best,
Juan.Jazrupt February 20, 2014 at 9:07 pmYou rock Juan! I used the regenerated thumbnails plugin and everything looks to be fixed.
Thanks again for the continued support – this theme has been great for our company site and your attentiveness to our questions means a lot!
Jazrupt March 3, 2014 at 10:03 pmHi Juan! Thanks again for helping with the sizing issue – to follow up on my other question above:
I’m editing my menu items this week and having some difficulties with the featured images – When I delete a featured image and upload a new image, the old does not disappear. Rather, the menu image becomes a slider with all images that have been uploaded as the featured image, and they will not disappear unless deleted from my wp media library.
Currently I’m working on this menu item: http://www.sixstrawberries.com/menu/strawberry/
The featured image for the above post is shown here: http://www.sixstrawberries.com/our-flavors/
but when you click into the menu item you don’t see the image at all…instead you see the last two featured images I had used, inside a slider. But I had removed those images previously, and re-set the featured image to this: http://www.sixstrawberries.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/sixstrawberries-february-25th-photoshoot-strawberry-610×610.png
Do you know how I can fix this? Without deleting previous images entirely from my media library?
Thanks so much!
Juanfra Aldasoro March 4, 2014 at 1:02 amHello there,
Thanks for the follow up.
The menu item slider displays all of the images that are uploaded to that menu item.
If you want to avoid displaying some of them, then you’ll need to delete them. There’s a difference between removing the featured image and deleting the file. Removing the featured image, only applies the logic of having or not a certain image as a featured image. Deleting the image, in the other hand, removes that image from the site.
If you go to the menu item, and click the “Add Media” button, you’ll be seeing a “select” below the “Media Library” tab. Pick “Uploaded to this post” to see the images that are uploaded to that certain menu item. Then delete the one that you want to avoid having in your slider.
Another option would be using a plugin like: http://wordpress.org/plugins/unattach/
Best,
Juan.
