License activation development environment

Hi there,
I am developing the WordPress website on my development environment with an unresolvable hostname (from /etc/hosts).
Can I activate the license for the Smart theme on my dev environment and when I’m ready to go to production activate the license on production?
And possibly switch or enable both to be able to develop on my dev env while production keeps running?

Your license should be fine in the following local/staging hosts:
localhost 10.0.0.0/8 172.16.0.0/12 192.168.0.0/16 *.dev .*local dev.* staging.*
What’s your current development hostname? Do you think you can use one of those?

The development website’s IP address is localhost/127.0.0.1, the hostname is something completely different, resolved by the hosts file. Is that sufficient?

Licenses are based on a URL basis. You can check the active URLs by going to your NiceThemes.com Dashboard > Orders > View licenses
You can use any of the hosts I copied in my previous message.
The asterisk means you can use any string there. So for example, these would work:
my-cool-site.dev smart-is-awesome.dev my-dev-site.local dev.local-site staging.my-amazing-project
