Hello. I have an issue uploading a picture gallery into BBQ theme.
I clicked “add media” button to add images, but it doesn’t show the thumbnails and images that I see in the BBQ template.
Please help me out how to fix this.

Hello there,

Thanks for writing.

First of all, when creating a page in which you want to show the gallery, you need to select the gallery template for that page.

You can read more on this link to understand how to use page templates: http://nicethemes.com/support/theme-docs/folly/#page-templates

Please, be sure you select the Gallery template for that page. If you don’t set your page template with the gallery template it won’t work.

Second, you need to upload pictures to that gallery. In order to do this, use the Page mediauploader ( The “Add Media” button below the title in the page form ) choosing as many pictures as you want from your hard drive. You can edit the information for the images. Then save changes and publish the page.

It’s important to add the photos you want for your gallery on the same page, and not use the ones from the media (for example, others that you’re using for other pages/posts).

So please be sure, when creating the gallery page upload the images you want for that gallery on that page.

You don’t need to add them to the page content, as they’re uploaded already and linked to the page.

Finally, voilá, the template will make the magic happen.

Thanks Juan for a quick reply.
Yes, I selected the gallery template to make the gallery page.
And I followed the instruction to add the photos from Add media. When I put the images, they show in the page content area.
Then, if I delete the images from the page content area, it will work the gallery page. But once I keep the images in the page content area, it won’t shows the gallery function as BBQ template gallery page.
Then, do I have to delete images in the page content every time I make the gallery? Then how to edit the images because you cannot see the uploaded images in the page content area.
I am still not quite sure about this process. Please let me know if I am doing right.

Hi There,

Thanks for writing. I’ve seen in your site “Gallery” page that you now display three images.

Whenever you upload photos to the Gallery page, you don’t have to insert them in the content. This means, not pressing the “Insert into content” button.

Just by uploading the images from the desired page “Add media” button, they’ll be linked to that page and they’ll be appearing on the gallery.

To edit the gallery images, when you open Media for that page, through the “Add Media” button, you can click on “Media Library” and then select “Uploaded to this page” from the list below.
