Search results page doesn't have sidebar

Request ID #31931 In Progress
  • Search results page doesn’t have sidebar, how to enable it? i.e. a search term I was looking for is part of FAQs, so when I click on it it brings up the page where the correct info is but it doesn’t show sidebar left of right. In my widget area I have dragged components for Konwledge, FAQS etc. … so it’s not that.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Thanks for writing.

Yes, the search results template use the “Primary” sidebar as the sidebar. Is that not enough? Would you need a special sidebar for the search results page?

    Best,
    Juan.

That actually doesn’t work so I went in and modified the code in the single-faq.php
Not sure how it’s going to use Primary when it is not in the code.

    Thanks for the follow up.

The template you need to edit is search.php, the FAQ templates doesn’t have sidebars.

    Best,
    Juan.

OK thanks and is there a widget to show all FAQ?

    Juanfra Aldasoro

    Thanks for your response.

No, unfortunately there’s no widget to list all FAQs, but it’s a good feedback. I’ll check to see if we can put that in the product roadmap.

    Best,
    Juan.

Well it;s kinda useless to not have that.

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll be working to improve that.

    Best,
    Juan.
