Request ID #863 Resolved
  • I have just bought the BBQ theme and installed it through the word press theme install options. I am getting a very strange text bar across the top of the page when both in dashboard and when viewing a page. that reads and repeats & TEXTDMWr & TEXTDMWr & TEXTDMWr.

Also can I somehow install the demo site for the BBQ them to give me a good launching point.

    Hello,

Thanks for writing. Would you send me your FTP details to support@nicethemes.com so we can take a look at the files?

    Best,
    Juan.

Thanks, reinstalled everything and it’s up and running. I wanted to set up my page templates to mimic the demo site and have looked at the documentaion:
    SETTING UP PAGE TEMPLATES
To select a Page Template to your page:

Go to Pages → Add New.
Add a title to your page.
Go to Page Attributes panel in the right sidebar.
    Select a Template.

I did all this but I get no results. Seems very hard to get a start with this Theme.

    Hello Nick,

Thanks for the information – And I’m really sorry you’ve been experiencing some difficulties when setting up the theme.

The home template is well configured. The problem with the slider was that your theme folder /cache/ didn’t have the proper permissions. You need to set 777 permissions to that folder in order to have images running. You can check the documentation about this, here: http://nicethemes.com/support/theme-docs/bbq/#troubleshooting

    Best,
    Juan.

Cheers for that Juan, is there any way to set my site up to look exactly like the demo site. I’d like to start off with this then customize it.

I’ve looked at assigning the homepage page I created with the “home” template from page attributes drop down menu but I’m getting no joy.

Am I correct in thinking that I can retore the them back to how it looks in the demo site or do I have to start from scratch and rebuild everything?

    Hey There,

I’ll send you the xml sample data from the demosite by email so you can import all the same content from that site.

Have in mind that in order to have your home site looking the same way as the demo site, you need to add infoboxes & set up some widgets.

    Best,
    Juan.
