Change label text for home search box

Is there a way to change the home page’s search box’s label from “Have a question? Ask or enter a search term.” without going into the file itself so that it will persist if a theme update happens?

Hi,
Thanks for writing. I hope you are doing well today.
At this moment, unfortunately, that can’t be changed through the theme options panel.
The best way to change that would be creating a child theme, and for the file header.php edit the line number 120 where the string is.

Thanks Juan… I may then just use some global javascript to do change the text then
