I created a child theme and it does load, but the formatting appears to be off. Is this because of the theme options not loading properly? Is there something extra we need to do to create a child theme?

Hello Michele,

Yes, our themes are child theme compatible. The options shouldn’t be a problem.

Are you getting the styles? What is going wrong with the site?

I found the issue. The “Customize” options for the theme did not have the navigation menu selected, so even though the menu was showing…it was not the custom menu. 🙂
