We’ve bought the flatebase theme on envato themeforest to create a internal wiki for our company. Everything works great but there is no option to order the articles for each category on the home page. It seems to be random..?! Or can someone tell us how to order the articles by date, by viewcount, by whatever..?!

Thank you for writing and for your purchase.

With regards to the articles order, since version 1.0.2 of the theme we added arguments in order to change that. The default order is given by the “Order” field, which can be found while editing any article. It is defaulted to an ascending order.

If you want to change the order you can use a filter. That should be done in the functions.php file of your theme.

And how can we do the same for a category page or tag page? There is also a random order and we don’t know how to change this. Would be great if you’ll create a code for us like before and tell us where to insert it 🙂

PS: Is it possible to order by view count?!

Hi,

Thank you for the follow up. Well, that filter works for any page (category, tag). It is up to you to check which page the script is on and react as needed. I’d recommend you to check the Codex for functions like is_category(), is_home(), is_tag(), etc.

With regards to ordering by view count, there’s a widget named “Popular Articles” that can be used for that purpose.
