Roboto font weight

The roboto font weight seems to be bolder/heavier than it should be..
The light weight seems to be normal that of typical Roboto.
I’ve drawn up a comparison.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39930/roboto-font-comparison.png
Also, are there plans to add the Roboto Thin weight option?
Thanks,

Thanks for writing.
Where are you taking those fonts to compare? A graphic editor tool like Photoshop/Fireworks?
Have in mind that the text above the live search functionality has some shadow which can be a bit confusing in terms of font weights.

http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/RobotoI do notice the slight shadow, but that shadow is dark and doesn’t seem to affect the boldness of the white text.
Juanfra Aldasoro November 19, 2014 at 2:08 pmHello Gerard,
Well, webfonts never look the same in photoshop as they do in a browser. They even differ on different browsers. For example, viewing a google font in Chrome doesn’t look the same than in Firefox.
What I mean with the text shadow is that it may affect the way you see it, like an optical illusion, not that it affects the boldness. For example, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_illusion
Best,
Juan.
