Perhaps a good way to test the importer, now that you have fixed the mod_security issue, would be creating a one-click install in a subdirectory on that same domain. I guess your cPanel comes with one-click install for WordPress, right?

Please keep me updated, I really want to know how it goes and make sure that you have your site as you wanted. (We’re also currently auditing the importer, and basically, there’s no reason why it behaved like it did in your host, besides the reasons we listed previously)
